Helping secure Tanzanias future
Developing Agroforestry
Agroforestry, a practice that combines agriculture and forestry to create more sustainable and productive land use systems, is still underappreciated globally. However, in Tanzania, where there is ample land for development, farmers and communities are increasingly recognizing its value. The project in Chala is just the beginning, with plans to replicate this model in Same, near Mount Kilimanjaro, focusing on empowering women through agroforestry.
This initiative is more than just about planting trees and crops; it’s about creating a self-sustainable economy for local women and transforming lives through innovative agricultural techniques. The Lion Legacy Foundation’s commitment to agroforestry in Tanzania is a testament to their dedication to creating a healthier, more sustainable future for the communities they serve.
